Scientific Literature Overview
Musculoskeletal Pain
Interferential current and photobiomodulation in knee osteoarthritis: A randomized, placebocontrolled, double-blind clinical trial.
Authors Alqualo-Costa R, Rampazo ÉP, Thome GR, Perracini MR, Liebano RE.
Published Clin Rehabil.26
Date Apr 2021
Place of
origin
Master's and Doctoral Programs in Physical Therapy, (UNICID), São Paulo, Brazil
Background Electrophysical agents combination for pain relief is commonly used in clinical
practice. According to some authors, when interferential current and
photobiomodulation were applied, a positive impact on pain attenuation in knee
osteoarthritis could be observed. However, these reports only described the use of
aforementioned treatments applied alone and, no one evaluated the combination of
them
Objective To evaluate the effects of combining interferential current and photobiomodulation
in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
